The Night She Came Home has two unsuspecting people thrown together, while suspicion and murder hamper their efforts to catch a killer!

Jesse Brooks is an attorney, an attorney who finds her husband Dave, a doctor, stabbed to death when she arrives home one night. Jesse doesn’t know who would want her husband dead, and for a year, his murder leaves a cold trail in its wake. Jesse moves to Trenton, New Jersey, and begins working for another law firm. Struggling to put the past behind her, Jesse can’t seem to let go of her husband’s unsolved murder. Until she meets Kyle Whitman....

Kyle Whitman is the handsome doctor who was due to merge his practice with Jesse’s husband Dave, before his death. Kyle is a suspect in the murder investigation; he stood to gain a great deal of money if he and Dave merged their practices, so why would he kill Dave?

When Kyle shows up at Jesse’s new law firm and asks her to represent him in his possible murder trial, she’s stunned, and even more stunned at how attractive she finds him, despite the fact that he’s accused of killing her husband. Kyle doesn’t know Jesse is Dave’s widow; she uses her maiden name in her new position, he only knows she’s the best in this field, and he wants her legal expertise to clear his name.

Jesse knows that somehow, guilty of murder or not, Kyle is connected to her husband’s death, and the two set out together to catch a killer before he catches them! One after the other, secrets and lies are exposed, leaving Jesse with plenty of conflict.

Can Kyle convince Jesse to trust him?

This reader had a fine time with this story, the presence of the killer was interwoven throughout the tale, giving you tidbits from a murderer’s point of view, creating an ominous, and tension filled setting! However, I felt the romance took a backseat to the suspense; there was a great deal going on, and the plot was intricate, though well developed. Jesse and Kyle had so much going on around them, that when they did connect, it was a pleasure. Still the author managed to make me want to root for them as a couple!

Many twists and turns and a surprise ending made up for the lack of heat between Kyle and Jesse. I found myself questioning every secondary characters motive more than once, and it kept this reader turning the page!

An easy read, with a well planned plot make The Night She Came Home worth taking a look!
