Lady Catherine Mabry is fascinated by Lucian Langdon, Earl of Claybourne. She is not exactly sure what draws her interest more, his scandalous background or his ruthless disdain of polite society. In any event, she is intrigued by the Devil Earl. As a lady, she will never act on her interest, but she does have another reason for seeking out the earl. She wants him to kill someone for her.
Lucian recalls Lady Catherine very well. She never shunned him the way the rest of the ton did, and always invited him to her parties – not that he ever attended them. Immediately suspicious of her purpose, he is still unprepared for her request. Years of living on the streets of London has made him a ruthless scoundrel for certain, but murder?
It seems that Lady Catherine does have something Luke wants – the polish of society. Luke agrees to consider her request if she will help him convince his childhood love to marry him, and become his duchess. Catherine agrees to help Frannie acquire the poise needed to manage the household of a nobleman and the various aspects of society life.
Author Lorraine Heath offers readers plenty to enjoy with In Bed With the Devil. Luke is a tormented hero and Catherine is courageous and loving. Each of them have demons to face before they can find true love with each other. The plot had several turns and was not predictable. It was a smooth read with plenty of heat.
