With her newly acquired MBA, Lacey Wellington is eager to prove herself to her brother, Wade, CEO of Wellington Restaurant Corporation. Lacey’s goal is to become VP of acquisitions for the family business. She is willing to start at the bottom and start at the bottom she does when she is sent to help out at the company’s least profitable property. Despite the fact that the property is stuck in the middle of nowhere with little traffic except for locals and lost travelers, Lacy soon makes plans to turn the place into a trendy coffeehouse.

Max McLane, a local cowboy who is too sexy for his own good soon catches Lacey’s eye. She has an immediate attraction to him and decides to have herself a little “Cowboy Fling” while she’s in town.

What Lacey doesn’t know is that Max isn’t really a cowboy but a CPA friend of her brother’s who was sent to keep and eye on her and keep her out of trouble. Max feels the attraction too and has a hard time saying no to Lacey’s advances. He can’t help wondering if she will still be advancing when she finds out he’s not a real cowboy.

Newcomer Dawn Atkins has hit a home run with this book. She has added some really funny situations to this story that had this reader laughing out loud. It was refreshing to find myself laughing so much while reading a book in the Temptation line. I love the way Ms. Atkins combined humor with the sensual and emotional qualities I have come to expect from a Temptation story.

Judging from this first effort with this publisher I would say Ms. Atkins has a bright future at Harlequin. I look forward to her next release.
