Thirty years ago, Eileen Stafford was forced to give up her triplets for adoption and then framed for murder by the man she loved. She went along with it in order to protect her daughters. Now she has a “Guardian Angel” that is going to help her see her daughters and hopefully, get out of prison by getting a confession from the real murderer. The problem with that is the real murderer is about to be named to the highest court in the land and getting a confession is likely to be impossible……or is it?
Private Investigator Jack Culver, former Bullet Catcher, is Eileen’s Guardian Angel and he has a reputation of getting the job done, no matter what! When he approaches Lucy Sharpe, owner of Bullet Catchers, for assistance, Jack must agree to play by Bullet Catcher rules in order for Lucy to help him. However, getting Lucy to believe some of the things that Jack suspects is a whole ‘nother can of worms, especially since it involves a friend of Lucy’s.
Now You Die by Roxanne St. Clair is the third Bullet Catcher book, in this trilogy, and oh, man! I do hope it’s not the last one! Lucy is just as she appeared in the previous novels – professional, intelligent, on the ball, a woman who gets what she wants – but in Now You Die, we get to see the private side of Lucy and discover her painful secrets and the reason for the white streak in her hair. Jack is a different story - professional, intelligent, on the ball but a maverick all the way! I had a hard time with Jack until I realized the reason behind his wise-cracking and innuendos. This book has some serious action that takes place and I was very surprised in a few places! If you like romance, suspense, action and happily-ever-after, I do have to recommend this book – you won’t be sorry! I’m hoping and praying we will be getting Dan’s book next!?
