Sara Fischer is a woman with a problem – well, several problems actually – and has no clue what to do about them. It started when she was a child – speaking perfect German during her sleepwalking episodes. Her father teaches her how to block out these episodes and everything that she dreamt. For the most part, she was able to do just that.

After her father’s death, she discovered something hidden away in the attic of her father’s house that belonged to his murdered brother, a Navy Seal who was murdered while on assignment. After her discovery, she starts dreaming again and realizes that her dreams and the stuff she found are connected. She’s amazed when she realizes that she’s having dreams or “memories” of a past life. However, she’s in more trouble now than in her past life because she has more people after her or rather, after her discovery. She was assaulted in a parking lot, almost run down in the street and finally after a co-worker, who looked vaguely like Sara, was murdered, she decided she couldn’t do this on her own. What’s a girl to do? Well, call on her childhood crush, of course, even if he does “trigger” the dreams.

Marc Bayard is now with National Intelligence and he has wanted Sara for years. They grew up together, along with Sara’s cousin Steve. After he gets a good look at the stuff that Sara discovered in her father’s attic, he realizes that she has landed right in the middle of his investigation and, knowing all the players and the extent they will go, he knows she is not safe. Now that she needs him, he will protect her with every resource at his disposal, while bringing everyone to justice!

WOW!!!!! Blind Instinct by Fiona Brand is an outstanding book. It’s got political intrigue, mystery, suspense; everything a good book needs and then some! This book didn’t just keep me glued to my seat; it was glued to my hands! I cooked, cleaned and did laundry while reading this book – I just couldn’t put it down. I thought Ms. Brand did an excellent job of telling the story – in both eras. Marc is such a yummy Alpha and now that he has Sara right where he wants her, he’s keeping her! Sara is a strong character who does whatever she must to save the man she loves. Fantastic job, Ms. Brand!!!! I’m now off to get the other books in this trilogy!
