Claire and Jack Crabtree have a troubled marriage, they both have their own interests. Claire will not move into the new house Jack built for his family. He seems to be spending too much time with a female colleague whom Claire does not like all that much. Jack is summoned to his ailing grandpa’s side back in Oklahoma, Claire only makes the trip at the last moment.

Bud and his wife Geri Crabtree were together for seventy years. They always knew what mattered most and let the other stuff take care of itself. Bud is in a coma, but tells his stories to the reader through flashbacks in time. He survived being shot down during World War II, survived the death of his beloved Geri, now he is ready to meet up with her again.

Claire and Jack have a chance at getting back what they seem to have lost along the way. With the help of Grandpa and others who knew the Crabtree family, they could have a long and happy relationship like the generation before them had.

A Pamela Morsi book is always full of surprises and her words give readers the warm, comforting fuzzies very few books can achieve.
