Rescue Me is an anthology featuring damsels in distress and the men who just have to be the ones to rescue them.

In Tropical Heat by Cherry Adair, Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) is a general practitioner who, while attending a medical symposium in Cape Town, is mistaken for a famous plastic surgeon, kidnapped and taken to a secret facility deep in the jungle. The man sent to rescue her is none other than mysterious hometown man and the man that, since her divorce, she has secretively lusted after, Sam Pelton. Cherry Adair has never written a story that I didn’t devour instantly and relish and this one was no exception!!

In Atlanta Heat by Lora Leigh, Bad Boy Lt. Mason “Macey” March has feeling for Emerson “Em” Delaney that he can’t act on, as Em has for him, because her godfather is his commanding officer, Admiral Holloran. Yet when Em gets kidnapped by terrorists, Macey is the person the Admiral calls to rescue her. Macey takes Em to “The Cave” while the rest of the team tracks down the remaining terrorists. What neither of them counted on was acting on their feelings. This was an enjoyable read, although I have a problem with “heroes” who seem to know what the heroine wants or needs more than she does.

What has A.D.A. Eliza Martinez gotten herself into now? All she wanted was a little free time out of the office so she signed up for a weekend Scavenger Hunt in the Grand Canyon. If she had known that she’d be paired up with Detective Seth King, she would have thought twice about it...maybe three or four times! However, since she’s out in the desert with “Detective Dreamy” and they haven’t killed each other yet, she might as well make the best of it in the Desert Heat by Cindy Gerard. Seth can’t believe that this is the same woman he’s constantly fighting with – he can’t even believe that he’s starting to like her but then unexpected trouble is on their heels. This story was a giggle. Seth is so playful that Eliza has no idea what he’s up to and it was fun reading the back and forth barbs between them!

Rescue Me was a fun read. I love feisty heroines and this book didn’t disappoint! It’s tough to pick a favorite story but it has to be between Tropical Heat and Desert Heat. Sam and Seth were just the best heroes – doing everything they could to save their lady and get them back home safe and sound!
