Can two families that have been feuding for over a century become one family? Well, Gabriel Brant is wanting to unite his ranch with his neighboring ranch but that will be hard to do as it belongs to Quinn Ryder. But Gabriel doesn’t want to deal with Quinn; he is after Quinn’s daughter, Ashley. Can he smooth talk her into what he wants?

Ashley Ryder does not want to talk to Gabriel, let alone go along with his proposition of marriage in paper only. But she has to think of herself, her upcoming baby and her father. She has fire in her eyes from anger from the feud, but she also had a crush on Gabe when she was in high school. Can the crush grow into something more after the marriage?

Can Gabe get over his grief of losing of his first wife and his parents to be able to love again? He loves his son Julian, but can he love Ashley? Gabe is also greedy, he wants more land for more cattle and the only way to get it is by marrying Ashley.

Do you remember the school dances where the boys are on one side and the girls are on the other? Well, that is how Gabe and Ashley’s wedding reception was, the Brants on one side and the Ryders on the other. Ashley’s uncles warned her Gabe would hurt her and take over the entire ranch instead of what was agreed upon.

Do You Take This Enemy? is the first in the “Stallion Pass” series. This was a fast paced story that you can read in a few hours. It deals with a century old feud, where two members have a go at a marriage of convenience so one can have more land and the other to have help with a ranch. It is interesting to see the marriage grow into a real marriage where the past is slowly being buried. The secondary characters bring more life to the story, just as they are supposed too, otherwise the story would not be as half as good as it is.
