Sheila Metcalf is upset when two of her former friends turn up dead on the Navajo reservation where she used to live. Someone implied that the death of her friends is related to the death of her mother, twenty-four years earlier. Against the wishes of ther friends, Sheila drops everything in Hideaway, Missouri, and heads off to Arizona, to see if she can assist at the reservation.
Her arrival is less than welcoming. A dead dog, bigotry, and unfriendly staff welcome her. Will Sheila find what she’s looking for at the place that gives her nightmares?
Double Blind is the latest by acclaimed author Hannah Alexander. If you care for medical thrillers, then Double Blind will not disappoint. Sheila is a hurting heroine, but determined to go against everyone’s advice and do what she wants, even if the decisions are unwise. She’s abrasive, defensive, and headstrong. In spite of the less than admirable heroine, I did enjoy the story, the action, the mystery, and the story line won out.
Fans of Hannah Alexander will not want to miss Double Blind. A preview of Hannah Alexander’s historical Hideaway Home is included at the end of the book.
