Moira Hughes learned the codicil written by her stepfather is missing from his will. She has been kicked out of Monteith Hall where she and her mother had lived with him. She needs to get back into that house and search for the missing piece of the will to prove she is entitled to part of the estate. She poses as a maid to do just that and meets the heir apparent Graham Foster.
Graham Foster has returned to England to find not only his family spending his money and living in the Hall, without a care in the world, but also Moira who he has learned once lived there with her mother. He is appalled when she tells her story to him, as Graham is a caring, honest man and can not stand to see someone hurt because of others greed.
He agrees to help her search for the codicil and the search leads them through the streets of London following the long trail of deceit, fraud and murder. The search also leads them both right into each other arms. Will their search put them in harms way before they can proclaim their mutual attraction they have for each other.
Lisa Manuel’s Fortune’s Kiss has something for everyone to enjoy. Suspense, murder, mystery, even moments of laughter. This was a delightful romantic suspense novel.
