Violetta is a young woman of many guises and has caught the attention of Orlando, Lord Blyth. When she became his sister's companion Orlando was intrigued to learn more about her.

I don't want to give too much away by going into too much detail of the story, Violetta is a very intriguing young woman and it is fascinating following her story and discovering her background. Her loyalty to her family and friends is wonderful, but she is such an exciting character it is small wonder that Orlando falls for her.

The story and the twists and turns in the plot keep the reader hooked on the tale and it never disappoints. Each chapter brings new revelations and intrigue and makes the reader eager for more.

Lynne Connolly is an author with lots of talent and creates excellent characters.

The secondary characters in this book are so well thought out that they all have lives of their own and are so much a part of the story that calling them secondary isn't doing them justice. They are all of great interest. Violetta's mother is a fascinating character and her love for the married Lord Ripley feels so right, they have been lovers for so many years that they seem like a married couple.

This book is a must read, any historical romance fan will love this story. It has everything a romance lover could possibly want. Full of passion, intrigue, plot and counter plot. I loved this book

I highly recommend it and have no hesitation in giving this book 5 roses. A thoroughly excellent read.
