Heather Westfield may not be a devoted follower of the fashion industry, but she is fashion minded. It is not surprising to find her at the grand opening of her town’s new store, Le Chique Echarpe. The fancy designer clothing seems out of place in Texas Hill Country. Heather has the idea to design another version of a dress from designer Jean Luc Echarpe for herself. Unfortunately, said designer thought she was stealing his design for another designer.

Jean Luc has come to Texas to disappear. The world is beginning to notice he doesn’t age. Even in the day and age of nips and tucks, people are questioning his youthful appearance. His plan is to leave France behind and go into hiding in an obscure town for the next twenty-five years. Afterwards, he will emerge as his own son. All goes according to plan until he meets Heather Westfield. He notices the curvaceous beauty ripping off one of his designs. Jean Luc determines to show her the exit but instead ends up hiring her and showing her the door to the designing room. More is waiting for them than just fabrics and sewing machines.

Lui has found Jean Luc for one purpose: to kill him. He would have succeeded were it not for Heather. Now she is in his targets as well. She saves Jean Luc and in turn he must save Heather from the nefarious Lui. Jean Luc takes Heather and her daughter into hiding with him all the while hiding the fact that he is a vampire.

Longtime fans of Kerrelyn Sparks or first time readers will love The Undead Next Door. Book four in the Love at Stake series means the return of familiar and favorite characters. There are delightfully new characters as well. The nanny is hilarious.

Readers love her humor, the hot and hunky heroes, and the stories that keep bringing them back to Kerrelyn Sparks’ book after book. They will not be disappointed in her newest offering, The Undead Next Door.
