Itís that time of the year again, and Rose is busy with all the usual obligations and then some. Choir practice, volunteering at the thrift shop, baking casseroles for sick friends, and hosting the perfect family Christmas.

But when her son is caught smoking in the school bathroom, tempers flare. Roseís husband blames Rose for being too busy to pay attention to their son. Rose blames him for being a work-aholic.

Rose misses the family togetherness and wishes they could spend a week at home, alone with no obligations, but she sees no way to make it happen. Not with people needing her, and the church calling for more of her time. What will it take for Rose to slow down?

Unwrapping Christmas is a beautifully written novella by award winning author, Lori Copeland. A true mom, Rose is trying to do it all, something we all can identify with. She is trying to balance her family, her church, all her volunteer work, and she hasnít yet learned the fine art of saying no. Her family is falling apart, but Rose doesnít know how to stop the downward spiral.

I think Unwrapping Christmas is a book that will ring a bell with all of us. Itís a really cute story that is easily read in an afternoon, and yet it is heartwarming, gripping, and will put the reader in the holiday spirit. Little bits of trivia about Advent is included throughout the book.
