Sentenced to burn for witchery, Draven the Devil withstood the tortures inflicted on him by the man who led his clan, his own father, Laird Harold Cameron. There was nothing left for him in this world, Draven wanted only death and was more then happy to receive it. Refusing to give in to his fatherís demands to use his magic powers against the king in an effort to overtake the throne, Harold is enraged at the Devil! About to give the order to light the pyre to burn his son alive, a shout rings out and Harold is stopped by Laird Elliot of the rival Maitlands who comes charging at the gates claiming that Draven has fathered his niece and heirís unborn child! Harold has no choice but to turn the devil over to his enemy, but plots that he will get Draven and his witchcraft back soon enough!

Lady Faith Maitland has been reared by her loving uncle since she was orphaned and is destined to become clan chieftain someday. After a violent attack in the woods leaves her with child, Faith must find a way to keep her filthy secret from her uncle. Demanding she name the father, Faith names Draven of Cameron knowing the man must surely be dead by now as he was to be executed. Arriving to find that Draven still lives, (barely), Faith is flabbergasted by the inhumanity and cruelty that Draven has been subjected to by his own clan and father! Vowing to make it up to him for his being forced to wed her, Faith makes it her mission to bring the sullen and withdrawn Draven back into the world of the living. She will teach him to speak again, something he has not done since he was a child and lost his mother to the very fate he just escaped from. Draven is drawn to Faith as he has never been to any other person, and wants to be a real husband and father to her babe. The Devilís Possession is learning to love and trust again, but true evil still lurks to destroy all!

What an awesome debut, Heather Watersí The Devilís Possession gets a five rose review! Draven wins hands down as a hero who is not your usual blustery full of himself alpha, he is flawed and carries his witchcraft as a cross to bear rather then seeing it as a divine gift the way Faith does. Faith is marvelous! A fighter who survives the worst assault a woman can ever endure and must bare the consequences of it in the form of an unwanted pregnancy. But through this heinous act a miracle happens when two tortured souls unite for the sake of the baby. Few stories are as memorable after reading but The Devil's Possession is!
