If you enjoyed Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Fantasy Lover” (and let’s be honest here, how could you look at that cover and not enjoy it?) then you have to read the next tale - Night Pleasures. Even though Julian of Macedon is settled with Grace, his longtime friend Kyrian is still wandering the shadows as a Dark Hunter. I’m not going to go into what makes a Dark Hunter – it’s complex and worth learning about as the story unfolds. I will say that he’s a hottie – handsome, brilliant, richer than Midas, and with a very warped sense of humor.

That sense of humor stands him in good stead when he ends up handcuffed to the eminently practical Amanda Devereaux. Twin sister to vampire hunter Tabitha, Amanda has spent many years trying desperately to avoid her otherwordly genes and live as normal a life as possible for one with a psychic and powerful family. She’s none too thrilled to find herself cuffed to a “buff stud in black leather".

Kyrian is charmed – no one has stood up to him in several thousand years. Amanda is ticked off – no one has ever turned all her dials to “high” just by touching her. It’s a fabulous love story backed by a thrilling mythology – getting into the Dark Hunter mindset is frighteningly easy.

Ms. Kenyon’s boundless talent gallops off with our emotions before we know it and we are cheering for Amanda and Kyrian as they race through the New Orleans streets trying to defeat some real bad critters. But the biggest question is whether they can defeat their own cautious natures and allow their passion full reign.

This was a spellbinding read, keeping me engrossed for an entire day. It’s highly recommended even if you’re not a regular reader of the paranormal. I, personally, can’t wait for the next Dark Hunter – Talon’s story is coming soon, and I am soooo ready!!
