As a reader, there is no greater pleasure than in picking up a book by an unfamiliar writer, and discovering an exciting new world. This fall, readers will have the chance to experience the joy of discovery as they venture into the land of the Fey and Tairen created by author C. L. Wilson.
Originally written as one book, her debut duet, Lord of the Fading Lands, and Lady of Light and Shadows will be released in consecutive months. These books are totally entwined, and you cannot read the second without having read the first. Frankly, after having read the first, you wonít be able to keep yourself from reading the second book! The characters and plot will have seeped into your soul and you will be driven to find out what happens.
With an intriguing new world to explore, readers will be swept away. There is danger on the move, with Eld Mage Lords infiltrating the unsuspecting Celierians and planning to wreak havoc wherever they exist. The Fey, as protectors of the world, hope to convince the Celierians that they should be on guard.
The fantasy is so inspiring that it sometimes overshadows the romance between Rain and Ellysetta, but the core remains strong. These are two people who never thought they would find their soul mates. Rain has lived through eons of war, strife and pain as he rules the Fey and tries desperately to keep the Tairen alive. He does not feel that he is worthy of love. He lives because duty demands it. Because he is their only hope. Elly thinks she is just a girl who doesnít quite fit in with the rest of her family. Both of them will discover that the gods have other plans for them.
Originally I intended to review each book separately, but it is an impossible task. By splitting Ms. Wilsonís original book in two, the publishers have only extended the reading pleasure. I canít wait to see what she has planned for the next book in the series, and hope that she is writing Ė very fast.
