Jane Austen was born way before her time. What a gifted author she was! Just Jane is the first fictionalized book about her and all her adventures.
Just Jane is based on family letters, numerous historical writings and wonderful research by the Nancy Moser. The reader gets a rare chance to live in Jane’s world, as she saw life. There are hints Jane had a love interest of her own, however little is know about this aspect of her private life. There is mention in the footnotes her sister had destroyed many of Jane’s letters to keep her private life out of the public eye. During Jane’s travels, she never went without her writing case, she feel she really was not living unless she wrote. During the times she was not writing, she just was not herself. She needed to write to breathe. All of her books have been made into movies and some of them earned academy award nominations.
What a marvelous book! I did not want it to end. Ms. Moser did an outstanding job with the descriptions of Jane’s adventures and her vivid descriptions of Jane’s family and friends. At the end of the book there is a post script and a fact versus fiction section. If I could give it a higher rating I would give it a 20. Highly recommended.
