It’s A Guy Thing! is a book that caught my attention as I was walking down the aisle in a store. Not so much the cover, but the title. After reading the blurb I had to take it home and read it. And I wasn’t disappointed.
It’s A Guy Thing! is the story of Cassie Carmichael and Guy Walters. Cassie is a woman who’s tired of being taken for granted by the man in her life. She’s tired of being unexciting. And she’s ready to do something with her life. Intending to spice up her relationship with her steady guy, she follows him to a resort where he’s gone to get some peace and do some work; Cassie is unprepared for what she finds. Somehow, someway she ends up in the arms and bed of sexy Guy Walters. The man she’s fantasized about for years.
What follows is a wonderful tale of a woman learning to reach out and grab what she wants, regardless of those who try to bring her down and a man who is perfect in all sorts of ways.
Guy is my favorite character in this book. He’s sweet, he’s strong, and he’s intelligent. He’s a million other wonderful things, but best of all he’s supportive. And that one characteristic makes him perfect for Cassie.
Cassie is a great character although at times I wished she could actually hear me yelling at her to “get it together already!” She had a hard time finding the balance she wanted in her life and had a number of unresolved issues to deal with. One of which was a friendship she’d had with Guy’s sister, Amy, which ended on less than great terms. It wasn’t until the end of the book that you found out why Amy was always faintly hostile when Guy mentioned Cassie to her. I’d have been happier if more had been done with that situation. I’m hoping that Myers is intending to do more with Amy in a future release.
