Cynthia MacKenzie is returning home to Colorado after spending two years in Europe. She has been called home by her family because her father is in poor health and not expected to live much longer.
David Kincaid is sent to pick Cynthia up from the stage and escort her home. There is chemistry between Cynthia and Dave from their first meeting and the author carries the chemistry throughout the book. The banter between these two characters is what makes the book for me.
This story is about opposites as city bred Cynthia MacKenzie and country boy David Kincaid do their best not to give in to their mutual attraction. Aren't we lucky that true love usually wins out over all else and Ana Leigh has brought us along for another romantic ride and glimpse into the wonderful old west life of the Mackenzie family.
Ana Leigh has created a dynasty with the MacKenzie series. She just keeps getting better with each new story. Ms Leigh has a real flair for writing about the old west and making it come alive for the reader. She not only tells a great new love story with each new installment but brings the reader up to date on many characters from the previous novels. As a reader I can only hope that the MacKenzie family tree has many more branches to discover in the future.
