Brenda K Jernigan writes for us another fun, fast paced book called The Wicked Lady. Read on to see how truly wicked she really is!

Trevor Claremont, Duke of Chatsworth, finds himself in a bit of a predicament. He has promised his grandmother that he would take a wife before she dies. His predicament is that he has no wish to take a wife, nor anyone with whom he would like to offer. That is until the day that Kristen Johnstone, walked, or should I say, stole into his life.

When Trevor caught a thief trying to pick his pocket, on the dock beside his clipper ship, he is a little more than surprised to discover that the thief is a beautiful woman/child of about 18 years of age. But, more important, he sees the solution to his problems.

Trevor offers Kristen a deal. Marry him, and he won’t turn her over to the authorities. Hesitantly she agrees, only to protect her little brother from being left alone. Soon, Kristen finds herself in gowns instead of rags, and eating beef instead of just bread and water. She also finds fiery passion in the arms of a man, who all she had ever done is dream about. Lucky was the day that she picked his pocket... or is it?

This is a Cinderella tale with all the trimmings. Ms. Jernigan keeps us entertained with witty characters and a support cast of house servants and an adorable little boy, who will steal your heart. This is a most enjoyable read and a welcome addition to your romance library.
