Into The Night starts off with three couples lining out their problems and relationships and interface them together via the main heroine, Joan DaCosta.

Joan DaCosta, a PR staff at the White House, is assigned to check out the SEAL base in San Diego and prepare the visit of the president and his daughter. Michael Muldoon has been chosen to be Joan's tour guide during her visit and to show her some of the SEAL training at the base. On the first day that they meet, they are attracted to each other but both of them try to resist. Joan has never dated a man younger than herself and she doesn't want to mix business with pleasure. On the other hand, Michael never needs to pursue women as women always come to him. But Joan is just not any woman, he needs to or has to... well, this is new to Mike - he doesn't really know what to do other than impress her!

Charlotte and Vincent DaCosta are the grandparents of Joan. They have been married for over 60 years. In Vincent's mind, Charlotte is always and still in love with her first husband, James, who died in Pearl Harbour in WWII.

Sam and Mary Lou Starrett are neighbours to Donny DaCosta, brother of Joan. Sam is a Navy SEAL and has planned to marry another woman before he found out that Mary Lou is pregnant with his child. He did the honourable thing to marry Mary Lou and they have a daughter, Haley but their marriage is not a happy one right from the beginning.

Into The Night, the fifth book in the Navy SEAL Saga of Suzanne Brockmann, surely promises a lot of action, laughter and excitement. Readers of the series will be happy to meet those sexy SEALs of Team sixteen again in this book. Mike and Joan's on and off romance may make you feel a bit frustrating but the love and romance of Charlotte and Vincent will surely make you forget Mike and Joan temporarily. For Sam and Mary Lou, we will need to find out what Ms Brockmann's plan with them in the next book of the series. Once again, it is highly recommended to read the series in order so you won't miss out any guys of the Team sixteen. Happy reading!
