While on his way to deliver divorce papers to Sherry O’Riley, Sgt. Shane O’Riley, also known as “Vegas”, has the feeling that there may be a possible terrorist assault while serving his country with the Air Force Department. Unknown to many there is some talks of terrorist on the island, not only are others in danger but so are his wife and her two adopted children. The break up is put on hold and he will be protecting her whether she likes it or not.

Sherry O’Riley still loves Shane but they just cannot seem to fix the little things that are wrong with their marriage and instead of both being unhappy, she knows this would be best; not just for her but for him too. As for the girls…. they love their “daddy”. Shane’s not listed as their Dad on the birth certificates but in their heart he is the only one they have known and loved. It was time to let go but with the understanding that the girls will always have Shane in their world. That is until they are in danger. Now she needs Shane and clings to him she does.

The question is why or who has made one of them a target? Do they realize who is in the most danger? Is there an inside man with Shane’s team? Will this bring Sherry and Shane back together? Will it take the possible disappearance of one of the girls to do that?

Catherine Mann’s On Target was a great book. I would love to see her write more about many of the other characters. It’s a keeper for me.
