Rebecca York’s latest werewolf novel reintroduces us to some familiar and otherworldly characters. When the Montgomery men battled the demon from another world in Shadow of the Moon they had help from a shapeshifter in that world. Now Rinna needs help and escapes to the Maryland woods. Unfortunately, Logan Marshall is captured in a trap set for the female shapeshifter, and she must use all her abilities to free him before he is destroyed.

Logan cannot believe his eyes – a female werewolf? The trap he is caught in is causing his brain to short-circuit and he must be delusional. Everyone knows that the curse is only carried by the male. Where has she come from? Can she help him escape the excruciating pain from this trap?

Ms. York crosses all boundaries with New Moon. The characters travel between dimensions to try and thwart the plans of an evil sorcerer and save Rinna from his domination. The romance between Rinna and Logan builds for a while since each of them must deal with unfamiliar worlds. Logan will have to call on the Montgomery clan for help when Rinna’s hunters cross over into this dimension with plans to overtake humanity. The novel is filled with action and suspense and will even please readers who are not sci-fi fans, but who can appreciate a fine paranormal romance.
