Many authors have gotten their starts writing category romances. Some have made the transition to single titles flawlessly, and others have unfortunately suffered, trying to expand their storylines. Fortunately for her fans, Suzanne Forster has made the transition with nary a bump in the road.
Her latest romantic suspense is called The Arrangement. It features Andrew Villard a well-to-do concert promoter. whose wife Alison mysteriously disappears off the side of their yacht in a storm. Soon Andrew is obsessed with finding Alison because he fears that if he doesnít, he will be accused of her murder.
Nothing is going to stop Andrew from trying to find Alison. When he discovers a female body on the rocks, he just knows it has to be Alison. From here the story gets complicated, and without giving major spoilers is hard to tell about.
A command performance at Alisonís family home is not the happy reunion that most families would be having, after fearing the worst for their daughter, and her long arduous recovery. The story is fraught with one suspenseful twist after another, but none are really spine tingling, though they will keep your fingers and eyes glued to the page.
The Arrangement is also not filled with hot steamy sex, but the tension is there, and palatable. There are plenty of characters to love to hate, and even a few to love to love! When I found out who one of the villains was, I was totally surprised. After reflecting back on it, I could see the very subtle clues leading to his identity, but can see how I missed them.
I have only just recently come to Ms. Forsterís romantic suspense, and she continues to draw me back. I unfortunately donít consider her to be a keeper for The Arrangement, but I do consider it have been more than worth my reading time.
