Growing up in exile with her mother in the West Indies, Raven Kendrick watched her mother languish away for her lost love - a married man who could not marry her or acknowledge their child. Raven vowed that she would never give her heart to a man. But when her mother dies, she promises to go to England and marry a man with a title.

While her aunt does not embrace her with love, her grandfather welcomes her with open arms and with their help she becomes the darling of society and accepts the proposal of the Duke of Halford. But on her wedding day, she begins to have doubts. Raven has a secret; a pirate lover who lives in her dreams and fulfills all of her desires and fantasies. Given a book of erotic romance by her mother to remind her of the folly of unrequited love, Raven uses this book to remind herself that love is foolish and to renew her vow to never give her heart.

When a spurned suitor kidnaps her on her wedding morning, she is nearly ruined. He holds her captive, drugs her and threatens to rape her. When his brother, Kell Lasseter, saves her and offers to marry her, she has no choice but to accept. Kell is fascinated with his new bride. At first he believes her to be a flirt and a heartbreaker but he slowly begins to realize that his new wife is much more. Raven doesnít want to feel anything for Kell, but he arouses in her a desire that even her secret lover cannot quench.

What follows is a tale of passion and seduction. Kell Lasseter is a wonderful hero. I love the fact that while he has his reservations, he is never cruel. Raven is definitely stubborn, but she isnít stupid. When she begins to realize that her feelings for her husband are deeper than desire, she doesnít hesitate to act on them.

I really enjoyed Ecstasy. Ms. Jordan has written a wonderful story of loyalty, passion, and seduction. As a treat for the fans of her previous novels, The Seduction, Passion, and Desire, we get to revisit members of the Hellfire Club. I am definitely looking forward to the next tale to come from the heart and pen of this amazing writer.
