Emma Hamilton is known as a real-life heroine of the most beautiful love story in British history. Amanda Elyot brings us her story and takes us into the life of this extraordinary woman. Itís as if Emma were standing right beside her telling her lifeís story.

Emma Hamilton, with her accent and sensuality is also known as the woman who had the most powerful men of England wrapped around her little finger. Sought after by poets, artistís from across the country trying to capture her beauty in sculpture and verse, Emma will in time become the most talked about woman in Europe. She will become a vital envoy in the British and Italian war against the French and confidante to queens.

But, Emmaís greatest conquest will be that of winning the heart of Lord Nelson, the greatest hero that the British Empire has ever known. But will her love for him be his downfall? He will have to risk everything for her.

This is a refreshing take on a romance story. Emma Hamilton was a real life person as was Lord Nelson. Reading about her life and the romance that developed between she and Lord Hamilton was like reading a diary of her life. All of the historical elements were there as well as intrigue and the adventure of the Georgian time period. The historical detail is flawless.

Amanda Elyot brings Emma Hamiltonís adventures and romances to life. Itís like reading the ďDear AmericaĒ books that my daughter likes to read; only this story is for adults. Itís interesting, fact filled and very entertaining. Emma was a remarkable woman and after reading about her life, I wish I could have met her.

Thank you Amanda, for introducing us to this fascinating woman in British history.
