When half vampire, half werewolf Riley Jenson is contacted by the new pack leader of her old pack, her first reaction is to tell them to go to hell. After all Riley does not feel any inclination to help the man that threw her off a cliff as a pup but she isnít given much of a choice with her motherís life in the balance. Reluctantly Riley agrees to look into the disappearance of the pack leaderís granddaughter which is fine with her because it seems to tie into her current case as a guardian for the Directorate of Other Races. Not only is her past reaching out to her but Riley must also deal with her loverís insistence that they be exclusive, a commitment Riley is unsure she is ready to make. Rileyís future is looking less and less like what she always pictured and she will have to come to terms with letting her ideal go if she is to find true happiness.
Embraced by Darkness is another fantastic novel in the wonderful Riley Jenson series that readers should just not miss. Rileyís development into her full potential is one that not only captivates but will have readers hungry for more of this kick-ass heroine. I love that Riley is such a strong and capable heroine that never waits around to be rescued and yet she has a soft feminine side and is susceptible to the soaring heights and pitfalls of the heart. Keri Arthur is a wonderfully imaginative author whoís brilliantly created characters that will grab readerís attention and have them excited to watch the development of her characters until the very end. Keri Arthur is a joy to read and Iím looking forward to continuing my journey with her and the awesome Riley Jenson.
