Author Lynn Kurland takes readers on another time-swept journey with her newest novel, When I Fall In Love. Jennifer MacLeod McKinnon has been robbed – again. This time the thief found slim pickings in her Manhattan apartment. It had been broken into twice before this month and all of her appliances and electronics had already been taken. When she found the door ajar for the third time, she immediately called her sister Victoria. Victoria’s husband Connor loves nothing better than playing the hero and they rush over to investigate. This time, the thief took everything in Jennifer’s closet – right down to the ratty bathrobe and flip-flop slippers. Maybe it was time for a change of scenery.

A message from her sister Megan is well-timed. She invites Jennifer to come to England to keep her company at the family estate, Artane. Jennifer immediately made plans to visit her grandfather in Scotland and head south to stay with Megan for a while. En route to Artane, Jennifer takes a couple of wrong turns and discovers Wyckham Castle. As she parked to get her bearings and figure out why she was lost, she immediately felt a sense of déjà vu. She had been here before. But that was ridiculous. She must have lingered in Scotland too long. All of those fanciful tales of knights and castles were getting to her. But she cannot shake the feeling, even after she arrives at Artane.

Nicholas de Piaget longs to escape from his grandmother’s matchmaking attempts. The handsome knight has no plans to wed, and the young women she parades before him hold no appeal. They hold him in disdain because of his bastard birth, yet are willing to overlook it because he has wealth, land and power. All he wants to do is go to Wyckham and work on the castle renovations. He has been away too long.

One wrong turn on an afternoon hike puts Jennifer right in the middle of 13th century England, face to face with some men who saw her appear out of thin air. She obviously found one of the time-travel portals her family talks about, and now she is in deep trouble. They take witchcraft seriously in this century, and she appears to be the next fire fodder. Just in the nick of time, someone else arrives to stop the Inquisition antics. Jennifer is looking at the most handsome man she has ever seen. He is even riding a pale horse. All he needs is armor to be a knight, but does he plan to rescue her?

When I Fall In Love is a wonderful tale. Jennifer knows that at some point she will have to explain herself to Nicholas, but has no idea how. Nicholas, on the other hand, knows very well where she is from but decides to keep that information to himself. Ms. Kurland’s fans will find plenty to enjoy in this latest novel.
