Maggie Anderson quit her graphic design job two years earlier to move in with her controlling boyfriend. When Kevin started becoming abusive, Maggie started attempting to leave him, but he’s always found her. When a car-jacker steals Kevin’s car when Maggie is out buying Kevin some more whisky, she sees this as a chance at freedom and starts heading west with nothing but twenty dollars and the clothes on her back.

A series of fortunate events leaves Maggie with more money than she’s ever dreamed and an adorable small town in the middle of Kansas—far from Kevin and their native New York City. But fearing Kevin is looking for her, Maggie has to remember to forgot everything about her old life.

Trevor Ashlock is existing in the small town in Clayburn, Kansas. Everything reminds him of his all too painful past. Trevor fills his days with work, trying to forget. At least until Maggie shows up in Clayburn and turns Trevor’s world upside down. Will Maggie be able to find a new beginning far from Kevin? Will Trevor be able to truly live again?

I’ve read and enjoyed all of Deb Raney’s books to date, and Remember to Forget is no different. Written in Ms. Raney’s compelling voice, the readers are instantly drawn into the story and live it along with Maggie and Trevor. I could feel Maggie’s horror as she has one misfortune after another, and could see her spirit lifting when things started to go better.

The faith message is expertly woven in as Maggie met Christians on her journey west. Remember to Forget has it all—action, drama, and a gentle love story. Grab the book, pack your bags, and settle in for the ride. Discussion questions are included at the end.
