Rachel Austin was a woman with nothing, literally. The bank had just foreclosed on the house that had been her home all her life. The only place she could go was the man that loved her, Houston Bookout.

Houston doesn`t have much, either. A truck driver, he was content with just Rachel to be waiting for him when he got home.

But Rachel doesn`t want to spend the rest of her life there, not yet. So, with little more than the clothes on her back, she leaves the small town of Mirage, Texas and goes to New York to become a model. A short conversation and a lucky break later, Rachel is now a famous model, with Houston still in Texas, loving her.

But that`s all about to change. An explosion from a package sent by an unknown fan blinds Rachel and brings Houston to New York. Now Rachel is forced to rethink everything, what really mattered to her? Fortune or love?

Now the same monster that had taken her eyes was after her again, chasing her a thousand miles to the small town of Mirage. Would Houston be able to save the day?

Dinah McCall, also writing as Sharon Sala, is probably one of the best authors I`ll ever read. Her books never cease to amaze me in the variety and color that she weaves together for an unforgettable story. Touchstone is a prime example. Two characters changing and maturing right before the readers eyes is something that many authors attempt, but few can achieve. Rachel's naive nature is changed, Houston's outlook on life is altered and they come together as a perfect match and fall in love all over again.

Readers, what ever you do, do not miss out on this book!
