They end up staying to care for the children and recruit more of their out of work actor friends to help with the task.
This is a delightful story that will keep the reader gripped from the first to the last page of the book.
Merry and Jack are forced into a marriage when she is but seventeen so that Austin can get his hands on her money. Jack is then banished from the house and is absent for five years. When he returns things have changed, as Austin has been dead for two years.
Merry loves Jack with all her heart. Though they had been brought up together, there is no blood tie between them. Jack still sees her as his sister and thinks the marriage should be annulled. Merry is having none of that. However, there is a devious plot going on through the story to get rid of Jack. Merry has no idea who is behind it but Jack has his suspicions. With all that's going on,
I could hardly put this book down, as I so wanted to know the outcome. But guessing the plot certainly wasn’t easy!
The book has so many delightful secondary characters, from the ghosts to the Indian and the scholar! Each one has a specific role to play in Jack and Merry’s life. And the ghosts being determined to get the couple together! From Highwayman to Actors and Gentlemen, each character shines through the story; even the villains, be they dastardly or devious, are simply brilliant.
Waiting For You is a totally delightful and joyous read!
