In her second story in the Candace Steele series, author Cameron Dean reveals more about the secretive vampire Ash, and why he is so determined to win back Candace.
There is a high-stakes poker tournament at the Scheherazade, and Candace is working undercover on security. Rumor has it that there may be a major con set to go down during the game, and it could be devastating to the resortís reputation. Since vampires may be behind the scam, it is up to Candace to find out the truth.
Luckily, her sexy cover as a cocktail waitress nets the attention of a high roller, Michael Pressman. He seems eager for some action away from the tables and Candace is happy oblige.
Luscious Craving is disappointing. I found the scenes with the mysterious Board intriguing, but was tired of watching Candace waver in her resolve to stay away from Ash. It also colored her affair with Michael, and made me feel like she was just sleeping with him for information. Either she needs to accept her life or change it. The constant inner discussion about her obsession with Ash is old news. The most interesting part of this novel for me was the ingenious Bat Pack, which brought humor to a rather dull story. With paranormal series popping up like weeds, Ms. Dean needs to make her series unique or it will be left on the shelf.
