Ruby Jewel was, and had always been, a hellion. Growing up in Louisiana, she had vowed not to bow to the ways of men. But when her father`s death comes unexpectedly, she travels to Hanging Tree, Texas and ends up meeting the sisters she never knew she had.

Marshal Quent Regan was intrigued by the French-speaking rebel as soon as she rode into town in her red satin dress, and vowed he would tame her. But because he carries a badge, Ruby cannot but help seeing the order that he represents.

The heart-wrenching trial of her overcoming her set ways and he seeing why she had made had me in tears more than once. Ruth Langan has woven a wonderful tale of a hellion and the man who would tame her. I can not say enough good things about this book. This is truly a work of art in the form of words.
