Even with a happy childhood, Addison Fox can’t help but wonder who her birth parents are. She has a successful business and pretty happy about the way things are. And then her parents are killed in a car accident and she finds herself searching more and more for her birth parents. And her investigation leads her straight to Talbot Investigations.

Randall Talbot is a former NTSB investigator, who’s reached his end. Now he’s working in Denver with his brother, who owns Talbot Investigations. When he first meets Addison, he thinks her to be a topless dancer who owed Talbot Investigations money.

After a tense moment, with him groping her, his brother walks in and explains the situation, but it’s too late for that, she’s angry and leaves, not hiring Talbot to find her birth parents.

Addison’s lawyer found her birth mother, but when Addison gets to her, she’s too late. The woman that had given birth to her had been murdered savagely a few weeks earlier. Churning with emotions that she doesn’t want to deal with, she goes home where her business is invaded and she’s shot at, saved only because Randall was there to make an apology and had gotten between her and the assassin’s gun.

After a great debate and the murder of her lawyer, Addison agrees for Randall and his brother to help her find her birth father.

This is an excellent story, with unexpected turns and heart-stopping suspense. Addison is a tad naive and even a bit of a goody-two-shoes, but she’s a perfect match for the gruff, burnt out Randall. The love story was fast paced, and suspense never-ending. Be sure you don’t miss out on this one!
