Witch/healer Ariana Kane Varden is the eldest of the Sun Witch’s children and the most powerful. Serving as the palace healer, Ariana is at a loss as to what is killing the once mighty Emperor Arik. Even more mysterious is the disappearance of Arik’s son and heir Prince Ciro. Confounding the situation even more is the strange visitor who has magically forced his way into an audience with the ailing Arik. This dark prince of magic claims that his grandfather’s prophecy must be heeded or the land of Columbyana will fall under an evil so hideous it will never recover. The one person he claims to be able to lead an army to destroy the evil is Ariana!

Wizard Sian Sayre Chamblyn has traveled a great distance to deliver his deceased grandfather's prediction to Emperor Arik. Stunned to find Arik so frail and ill, Sian holds his ground with the beautiful witch Ariana who guards her patient so possessively. Sian must tutor Ariana in all his skills as wizard as well as a warrior to be able to battle the malevolent force that awaits her. Sian must remain diligent in his task and distant in his feelings when dealing with his sensuous student. For to give in to their passion during the heat of battle could bring only disaster!

The Prince of Magic is the first in a new trilogy continuing on the legacy of the sisters of the sun. Linda Winstead Jones doesn’t fail us with spinning a wondrous tale full of danger, enchantment and victory in true love! But the road to a satisfying ending is going to be long readers so be prepared to commit to reading all three books. There are also many detours in the journey to love for Sian and Ariana that may cause the loss of patience, fight through that as they do and the reward will be a paranormal read you won’t want to miss!
