Marcella Sander`s newest book The Heart Doesn’t Lie takes the family feud to a whole new level! If you thought the Hatfield`s and McCoy`s had trouble just wait until you meet the Lee`s and the Prescott`s. Here are two families torn apart by an accident and whole bunch of lies. Can Jay Lee and Trent Prescott find love and settle a feud that is as old as they are?

Jay Lee has always been told that the Prescott family caused her mother and father`s fatal accident. She has been warned numerous times that the Prescotts are one bad family and to stay away at all cost. Jay has always followed this advice - that is until she is greeted by her new boss, Trent Prescott. Trent is doing a favor for his former employer by heading up a research trip to Africa.

Flabbergasted that a Prescott is in charge, Jay becomes determined to find out if he is one of THOSE Prescotts. Trent, on the other hand, feels that he and Jay might just make a really good couple. However, when Jay is sent back to America sooner than expected, she discovers the truth - Trent does belong to the horrible Prescott family. Devastated, she immediately breaks off the relationship. However, Trent won`t take no for an answer and quickly flies home to try and salvage their relationship. Will Jay Lee turn her back on her family and follow her heart or will this family feud “kill” another couple?

Sander’s book is a tender story about the power of love and the pull of family. She deeply explores each character and the reader immediately understands what makes them tick. I truly felt as torn as Jay Lee while reading the book. However, I did feel that this book could have taken place almost anywhere. I was actually surprised when Jay Lee left Africa; I had forgotten she was even there! This is a wonderful novel for a lazy afternoon.
