Krista Hart is the publisher of a weekly London ladies gazette and is not afraid to speak her mind, even if it means upsetting those who believe that women should not know or talk about such 'manly' things as social reform or child labor laws. At the risk to her reputation and her very safety, Krista will not be intimidated, although she knows that she is the target of angry opposition for her outspoken views.

When she encounters a powerful Viking descendant imprisoned as a local sideshow attraction, Krista takes matters into her own hands and wins his release. With the promise that her father will turn the Viking into a proper English gentleman, she takes him home. But, Leif Drauger soon learns that staying in the same house with Krista Hart will be difficult for them both. They cannot deny the attraction that they feel for one another, but he will not act upon those feelings in her fathers household, not after all the man has done for him in his teachings.

But as anonymous threats against Krista become more and more dangerous, it is Leif who must face the unseen enemies desperate to silence Krista, even as they push her further into the embrace of a warrior prepared to do whatever it takes to make her his.

A wonderful story of courage and love. Krista is one tough cookie, but she does have her limits and Leif turns out to be one of them. Strong, handsome and dangerous himself, Krista can't fight her passion for him and finally gives up trying.

Ms. Martin always delivers for her readers a romance that they can sink their teeth into. With wonderful characters, beautiful settings and a plot that keeps you turning the pages, you can never go wrong with one of her books.

A great winter read!
