Author Cameron Dean brings readers a new trilogy set in the perfect location for vampires Ė Las Vegas. She introduces us to Candace Steele, a former college student, who took a walk on the dark side and came back with some new skills. Ms. Dean also reminds us that beneath the bright lights of Vegas, danger awaits.
Candace could never have imagined that her life would have changed so drastically. One ill-fated romance is all it took to go from studious co-ed to stiletto-wearing vampire killer. Her nearly-fatal encounter with Ashford Donohue III, not only broke her heart, but left Candace with the ability to sense other vampires nearby. This skill has come in handy for her new security job at a casino.
When the management secures singing sensation Temptation McCoy as their new headliner, Candace is asked to run the security detail. There are two problems with this scenario: first, the singerís over-protective bodyguard, Lucas Goldfinch, doesnít want any outside assistance, and the second small detail is that Dru Benson, the singerís manager, just happens to be a vampire. It looks as though Candace is caught between a rock and a hard place on this assignment.
Passionate Thirst starts this trilogy off in fine fashion. Ms. Dean has given us plenty of reasons to connect with Candace and the other recurring characters. She has also provided an intriguing, twisted plot to keep our interest piqued. Readers should definitely give this author a try. I donít think you will be disappointed.
