Play with Me by Janice Maynard is an anthology that we can all relate to, in one way or another! It’s a book about 3 friends who make a pact on their 29th birthday to make one of their “deepest, naughtiest fantasies” come true before the year is up. They each live up to their promise…with results way beyond their expectations!

In Still Waters we meet Catherine Maderis, who is extremely shy and introverted. Her “secret fantasy” is Phillip Trent, a man she has admired from afar for some time. When he attempted to ask her out the year before, she blew him off but only because Phillips’ size and intensity intimidates her but she has a plan! If her nerve holds out, she’ll ask him to the Midsummer’s Night Masked Ball and hopefully that night, get started on her fantasy.

In Skin Deep we meet Kallie Bradshaw, whose secret fantasy is Beau Donovan, her best friend! Problem is Beau treats her like “one of the guys” and really, who wants a “vertically-challenged” flat-chested woman, anyway?! Kallie needs to get Beau to look at her as a desirable woman but how? She finally comes up with a plan that might break the ice but she probably shouldn’t have asked Beau while they were at a baseball game! Does she want to seduce a concussed man or just hope he forgets everything after he gets hit in the head with a baseball?

In Party Girl we meet Gina McCutcheon, “poor little rich girl” turned philanthropist extraordinaire, who finds herself on a cruise to relax. Considering her fear of the water and her tendency to burn, she decides to spend most of the cruise in a shady corner reading! Lo and behold, who is on the same cruise but the man that broke her heart? Trey Lipman crushed her 6 years earlier and while that incident caused her to turn her life around; she still hasn’t forgiven him….or has she?

Janice Maynard gives us three stories of women who put it “all” on the line for the man they desire and they succeed, but not without some bumps in the road! I had a few minor problems with this book but overall, it was enjoyable!
