Has the Dark-Hunter phenomenon hit you or your area yet?
With over three-and-a-half million copies sold worldwide of this highly popular vampire series, along with being on the New York Times best seller's list, no wonder the tales of these immortal bad boys seem to be spreading like wildfire amongst Internet users and readers alike! Not only do they appeal to the paranormal reader, but to women in general. With their big, sexually-confident egos and lusty attributes, what is there not to love?
They are the heroes that keep our world safe from Daimons and help right the wrongs. With their smart-mouthed quips and hip personas, who would not want one of these fanged babes for themselves?
The "official" first book in the series was Night Pleasures. Fantasy Lover did come before it, but was more of a primer and the characters are revisited in some of the later books. Here is the order in which they were released, but you do not need to read them all to enjoy these bad boys. It is easier to relate to the characters, however, if you are familiar with them beforehand. In fact, the author herself notes that there are "inside" jokes and references that make more sense if you've read the previous stories.
There are other smaller stories that pertain to the Dark-Hunter series and they can be found in the back of the books listed below.
1) Night Pleasures
2) *Dragonswan
3) Night Embrace
4) Midnight Pleasures
5) Dance With the Devil
6) Kiss of the Night
7) Night Play
8) Stroke of Midnight
9) Seize the Night
10) Sins of the Night
11) **Unleash the Night
*Dragonswan was first released in the Tapestry anthology
** Scheduled for release in January, 2006
The die-hard enthusiast and Dark-Hunter collector will definitely want all these books. You can get most of them in hardcover versions as well as paperbacks. To date - correct me if I'm wrong - all of Dark-Hunter stories can be obtained in hardcover except for the anthology Tapestry, which only came out in paperback. Clearly, the paperbacks are easier to get your hands on, since the book club hardcover editions by St. Martin’s Press go out of print quickly to end up on the secondary market from then on. Some command well over a hundred dollars on online actions and book selling sites (I know this, because I paid that much for one). So you might need to dig deeply into your pocketbook and shell out your hard-earned cash for some of the older hardcovers if you don't have them in your collection yet.
